Our Origin

The Story Studio grew out of two defining experiences.

For more than a decade, I produced documentary films for National Geographic, Disney, and PBS. Those projects took me around the world, preserving history, documenting remarkable lives, and telling stories that reached millions.

Then my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

Her diagnosis changed the way I thought about documentary filmmaking. I realized that some of the most important stories aren't meant for a broadcast audience. They're meant for children, grandchildren, and the generations that follow. A parent's voice. The way they laugh. The stories only they can tell. Those are the things we wish we could keep.

In 2025, I stepped away from network television to create The Story Studio.

During my years in documentary filmmaking, I met remarkable people and had the privilege of telling their stories. Along the way, I realized that some of the most important stories begin around kitchen tables, pass from one generation to the next, and endure because someone made sure they weren't lost.

That's why The Story Studio exists. We create documentary films that become part of a family's history.
